Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.   -- 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Jesus is our refuge. God is with you every step of the way.

"He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?   -- Micah 6:8 NKJV

Love God and love of your neighbour.

"Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."   -- Jeremiah 29:12-13

"God be merciful to me a sinner, and make me to know and believe in Jesus Christ; for I see, that if his righteousness had not been, or I have not faith in that righteousness, I am utterly cast away. Lord, I have heard that thou art a merciful God, and hast ordained that thy Son Jesus Christ should be the Saviour of the world; and moreover, that thou art willing to bestow him upon such a poor sinner as I am—and I am a sinner indeed. Lord, take therefore this opportunity, and magnify thy grace in the salvation of my soul, through thy Son Jesus Christ. Amen."   -- Pilgrims' Progress         by John Bunyan, published in 1678, Ninth Stage, Chapter 18.

"Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy upon me,"   -- Discourse on Abba Philimon              from the Philokalia (Philimon lived around AD 600).

"We know that God does not listen to sinners. He listens to the godly person who does his will."       -- John 9:31

“Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a right spirit within me.
Cast me not away from Your presence;
take not Your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of Your salvation,
and sustain me with a willing spirit.”   -- Psalm 51:10

Jesus said we are to pray this way:

Our Father, which art in heaven,

Hallowed be thy Name;

Thy kingdom come;

Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven:

Give us this day our daily bread;

And forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive them that trespass against us;

And lead us not into temptation,

But deliver us from evil;

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,

For ever and ever. Amen.

-- The Book of Common Prayer

And seeing the multitudes, Jesus went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,

   Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

   Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

   Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

   Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

   Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

   Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

   Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

   Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

  Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of          evil against you falsely, for my sake.

  Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

  Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

  Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

  Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

"For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."   -- 1 Peter 3:12

"I cried out to him with my mouth; his praise was on my tongue. If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened; but God has surely listened and has heard my prayer. Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me!"   -- 5. Psalm 66:17-20

"And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him."   -- 1 John 5:15

"A person finds joy in giving an apt reply— and how good is a timely word!"   -- Proverbs 15:23 NIV

May the peace of Christ be with you!
